1977年Laura Jansen出生与荷兰，Laura曾在荷兰音乐学院学习两年并获得著名的伯克利音乐学院的奖学金。毕业后，她搬到了美国纳什维尔，成为一个唱作人，之后定居在美国加州。
2007年Laura发行了首张EP专辑<Trauma>；2009年，发行的首支单曲<Single Girls>获荷兰单曲榜七十名；同年发行首张个人全独立创作专辑<Bells>，该专辑在荷兰专辑榜达到第六名并在榜九十五周，最终在荷兰认证白金唱片；同年，发行了整张专辑唯一一首非原创的第二支主打单曲<Use Somebody>；次年第三支主打单曲<Wicked World>发行,并在荷兰单曲榜达到三十一名。
Laura Jansen的声音干净甜美又不发腻，而从她多首单曲中也看得出，Laura也并没有想走甜妞的路线。创作编曲全能，大多采用钢琴配乐，歌词也很有意思，好听不矫情。

第一首推荐来自Laura Jansen推出的第一支同名EP，和英国很有名的另类摇滚乐队Keane主唱Tom Chaplin共同演唱，歌词充满态度，嗓音坚定有力，旋律大气爽朗。
