Hi. Today you are going to learn more about my role model, Emma Watson.
"I think it is right I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I should be able to make decisions about my own body. I think it is right that women be involved on my behalf in the policies and decisions that will affect my life. I think it is right that socially, I am afforded the same respect as men." --Emma Watson
Emma has been my inspiring role model ever since I knew about her. She is the most talented, considerate, and confident person I have ever known.
First, Emma Watson is talented. She can sing and act extremely well due to a beautiful voice. She can also study well due to a good attitude and intelligence. She starred as a toddler star, a teenage star, and finally, an adult star. She played in the 8 Harry Potter films starting in 2001 and ending in 2011. Additionally, she played in Beauty and the Beast as Belle in 2017, and there were other TV shows and movies she played in, like Ballet Shoes and others. She is also called the Queen of English because of her beautiful voice and accent, similarly allowing her to sing beautiful songs. Then again, she was a graduate from Brown University in the United States, and although she was acting Hermione all year long and there were times when she had to spend the day on nothing other than filming, she still studied late into the night. She was hard-working enough to promise herself at least 4 hours of study every day. If it wasn’t for the hard work accompanying her, how could she have been successful as she is today? Her talents and achievements ask me, what have I done to my talents? I have talents, but they are wasted compared to Emma’s. Her actions made me persistent, in order to be like her.
Second, Emma is considerate. She was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of UN women, meaning that she spoke constantly of inequality in races and gender. She travelled to distant countries like Bangladesh to speak. Furthermore, she spoke at the UN for gender equality in 2014. She likes doing this, and it is therefore shown that she has ideas to do uncommon things. She mastered this career as well as the previous acting one, and did an outstanding job in the HeForShe campaign. If she can think out of the box, see the world with critical eyes and do things to change it, why can’t I? This question was always my motivation.
Third and the most important, Miss Watson is confident.
“All I can do is to follow my instincts because I can never please everyone.”--Emma Watson
It is officially said that the British prince once begged her to marry him, but Emma longed for freedom. She refused the prince’s request and remains single up to this day. She did not refuse because she wanted to be rude. She simply wanted to be herself, to marry who she loves, to be who she approves of.
“I am my own queen. You don’t need to marry a prince to be a queen.” --Emma Watson
It is also said that in 2010, just after she finished filming the last Harry Potter film, she cut her hair really short. She didn’t care that she wasn’t the loved princess anymore. It was just a happy thing for her that she could finally be the way she had always to be, but hadn't had the opportunity to become because of the hair length limits of playing Hermione Granger.
“I’m going to do what I want to do. I’mgoing to be who I really am. I’m going to figure out what that is.”--Emma Watson
Emma remains, to this day, a carefree, stylish lady with her life in her own hands. As matter of fact, I once was extremely unconfident. But Miss Watson’s example made me better at developing confidence, shaping me into a better person.
However, this isn’t all about my accomplishments. Emma didn’t do everything just for herself. It is a change in the world we are looking forward to. Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot do this alone. I cannot be the only one to stand in the wails of despair in this world. I cannot alone bear the cries of talent-wasting, the sobs of gender and race abuse or the calls of mental depression. I need your help. Here I give my formal invitation for all of you to step out. Ladies and gentlemen, the world is your issue too. We have to work together, for our united goal. Change starts now.
