        1997年，有线电视江苏综艺引入了美国MTV音乐电视网、亚洲地区MTV中文频道制作的节目《MTV天籁村》。主持人是李霞。每期节目都介绍最新的欧美音乐，后来周末常常看。1999年，听李霞推荐Lene Marlin——这个来自北欧的小女生，说是她最喜欢的。或许当时听到的不是《A Place Nearby》，印象不是很深刻。

        后来，在南京看到了原盘，淘碟的朋友推荐很好听，买下之后再听，很有感觉。唱得是什么，已经不太重要，乐器的声音，在歌里仿佛成了琳恩声音的附属品，音乐的停顿，以为歌曲就要沦为平庸，以为已经走到尽头的时候，琳恩的声音平静的响起，推动着音阶，那是远离尘嚣的静寂，却又带着丝丝抚慰心灵的温暖。旋律并没有优美，却异常的被打动。
