奥斯卡奖得主朱迪·丹奇将会被英国独立电影奖授予理查德·哈里斯奖用于表彰她对英国电影的卓越贡献。颁奖典礼将于12月2日在伦敦举行。

在即将到来的这个颁奖季里，朱迪·丹奇将不会有作品竞逐任何奖项，但她仍然会将一项荣誉收入囊中。

英国独立电影奖宣布朱迪·丹奇将会成为2018年理查德·哈里斯奖的授予对象，以表彰她作为一个演员为英国电影做出的卓越贡献。同时，英国独立电影奖认为，“朱迪·丹奇拥有一个杰出的英伦从影生涯，而放眼全球，她也在帮助推广、传播英国电影产业的影响力。”

英国独立电影奖到今年已经举办了17年，理查德·哈里斯奖先前也曾授予过丹尼尔·戴-刘易斯，海伦娜·伯翰·卡特，切瓦特·埃加福特，朱丽·沃特斯，约翰·赫特，艾玛·汤普森，吉姆·布劳德本特，艾莉森·斯戴曼，鲍勃·霍斯金斯以及2017年的瓦妮莎·雷德格瑞夫。

“无论是在舞台上，荧幕里，又或是幕后掌舵者，朱迪·丹奇和理查德·哈里斯都保持着相同的敏锐和危险，二人有很多共同点！”贾里德·哈里斯说道，整个奖项是为了纪念他的父亲而建立的。

丹奇极度多元的职业生涯，包含了非常标志性的角色——比如《看得见风景的房间》中的小说家Eleanor，《菲洛梅娜》里的Philomena,《涉外大饭店》里的Evelyn以及七部《007》中的M夫人。而这些她扮演过的标志性角色也伴随着她赢下一座奥斯卡奖，10座英国电影和电视艺术学院奖以及成为历史第一人的8座劳伦斯·奥利弗奖。

Judi Dench to Get British Independent Film Awards Honor

The Oscar winner will receive the Richard Harris Award for outstanding contribution at the ceremony Dec. 2 in London.

Judi Dench may not be considered to be among this season’s awards contenders but she’s still set to bag herself an honor.

The Oscar winner has been named the recipient of the Richard Harris Award for outstanding contribution by an actor to British film at the 2018 edition of the British Independent Film Awards, in recognition of her "distinguished career in the U.K. and advocacy of the British film industry across the globe."

Now in its 17th year, the Richard Harris Award has previously been bestowed upon Daniel Day-Lewis, Helena Bonham Carter, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julie Walters, John Hurt, Emma Thompson, Jim Broadbent, Alison Steadman, Bob Hoskins and, in 2017, Vanessa Redgrave.

“Dangerous on stage, on screen and apparently behind the wheel of a car, Dame Judi Dench and Richard Harris have a lot in common!,”said Jared Harris, in whose father’s memory the award is granted.

“We are delighted that she has agreed to accept this award. Dame Judi has stolen every scene she has ever been in, and stolen our hearts along the way. Although she hates being called a national treasure and prefers to be thought of as a jobbing actor, she is undeniably both the standard bearer and the gold standard for British actors.”

Dench’s hugely diverse career — which has included iconic roles in A Room With a View, Philomena, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and seven James Bond films — has seen her earn an Academy Award, 10 BAFTAs and a record eight Laurence Olivier Awards, with performance.

"It has been my absolute privilege to spend almost 60 years working in the British film industry, one of the most vibrant and creative homes for filmmakers in the world," she said. "To be recognized with this award, which bears the name of the great Richard Harris and counts some of my favorite actors and actresses amongst its past recipients is a source of deep pride and a very special honor."

The 2018 BIFA awards ceremony takes place Dec 2 in London.
