From January 25th to February 3rd 2018 in Hangzhou, China,2018 The 1st Hangzhou Liangzhu International Piano Featival  is now being launched!


Led by the world famous and the most esteemed piano teacher today, William Grant Naboré, with some of the most eminent pianists and teachers such as Stanislav Ioudenitch, Dag Achatz, Alessandro Deljavan plus all of the Directors of piano departments from all the middle schools attached to the conservatories in China.


The Nine- day Festival will include Masterclasses and Private lessons for students. There will be four important lectures plus three concerts from our visiting Professors.

Pianist and Pedagogue

The famous International Piano Academy Lake Como was founded by Maestro Nabore with Martha Argerich as Honorary President in 2002. Many of his students are important First Prize winners of competitions such as the Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Van Cliburn in Fort Worth, the Queen Elizabeth in Belgium (2 First Prizes), ARD Competition in Munich, Cleveland Competition (2 First Prizes), Jaen in Spain, Prokofieff in St. Petersburg, Tschaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Franz Liszt competition in Utrecht, Franz Liszt competition in Budapest, the Georges Enescu in Bucharest, Mag Lind Competition in Helsinki, and many others.

Born in Roanoke Virginia, USA was admitted as a special student of Hollins College. The teachers in his young years were Kathleen Kelly Coxe and the famous musicologist Anne McClenny. He was awarded a full scholarship to the venerable Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome where he studied with Carlo Zecchi, a pupil of Busoni and Schnabel, and with Renata Borgatti. He was awarded the the First Prize plus the Paderewski Award from the Conservatory of Geneva in Switzerland. He later studied with Alicia De Laroccha, Rudolph Serkin, Georges Szell and chamber music with the cellist Pierre Fournier.

For twenty years with the sponsorship of the City of Geneva in Switzerland he played the complete chamber music repertoire of Beethoven, Schubert, Dvorak, Schumann, and the essential French and Russian works as well. His principal partners were, the Amadeus Quartet, Talich Quartet, the Gabriel Quartet, the Brindisi Quartet among many others. He has given important first performances of contemporary composers especially in Europe.

With orchestra he has performed with Santa Cecilia of Rome, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Suisse Romande Orchestra and the Verdi Orchestra in Milan among others.

Maestro Nabore is highly regarded as one of most celebrated and successful piano teacher in the world. He was also the founding director of the International Foundation"Theo Lieven" on Lake Como and is Professor at the University of Music in Lugano. He gives masterclasses in institutions over the world including the Conservatories of Beijing and Shanghai.

Stanislav Ioudenitch

Professor and Music Director of Park University

Stanislav Ioudentich is one of the most promising young musicians in the world and the youngest piano master at the world-famous International Piano Academy Lake Como. His performance is full of aristocratic elegance and fresh imagination, with strong music personality and persuasiveness. The international music critics say that Stanislav has started a new age. Now he teaches in Park University in Missouri, USA, and is the youngest vice professor and music director of the university. He has won gold awards in the 3rd Busoni International Piano Competition of 1991, Cappell International Piano Competition, Maria Callas International Piano Competition, Palm Beach International Piano Competition of 1998, New Orleans International Piano Competition of 2000 and the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition of 2001, one of the world's top piano competitions.

Stanislav Ioudentich was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1971. Later he entered Queen Sofia High Conservatory of Musicin Madrid, Spain, learning from Dmitri Bashikirov. At the same time, he was also taught by great pianists like Fou Ts'ong, Fleischer, William Grant Naboré, Morrie Perrasia, Little Schnabel and Rosalind Turk. Since 2002, he has been invited to host the master classes at the International Piano Academy Lake Como and and became the youngest teacher there. In 2011, he was honored as honorary director of the Van Cliburn Foundation.

Stanislav Ioudentich has not only given recitals at world-famous Aspen Music Festival, but also gone on touring performances in European countries like France, Germany, Italy and Britain. From 2007 to 2010, he held the global piano tour with Van Cliburn Foundation. Their footprints spread across USA, Turkey, South Africa and China. In 2009, he was invited by famous pianist Fou Ts'ong to perform with Netherlands Royal Philips Orchestra at Shanghai Oriental Art Center, causing a sensation.


Alessandro Deljavan

Alessandro Deljavan is a famous Italian pianist with top prizes in many competitions, including French Music Festival Competition (First Prize,Paris, 1996), Hummel Competition (Second Prize, Bratislava, 2005), Gina Bachauer Young Artist Competition (Fifth Prize, 2005), Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (John Giordano Discretionary Award, 2009), Isang Yun Competition (Second Prize, Tongyeong, 2010 ) and Van CliburnInternational Piano Competition (Raymond·E·Buck Discretionary Award, 2013).

Dag Achatz

Famous Swedish pianist, educator and composer

Dag Achatz is a famous Swedish pianist and composer. TheIgor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring recorded for BIS is recognized as one of the greatest works in the 20th century.

Achatz was born in 1942 and his parents are both musicians. He grew up in Switzerland,  entered Haute école de musique Genève-Neuchâtel at the age of 8 and graduated with honors. Then he followed Greta Eriksson to continue his studies in Stockholm. Later, he learned from Alfred Croit and Guido Agosti in Siena, Italy, and Suzanne Loch and Frando Peremetty in Paris. In 1960, he got an award in the Rudolf Ganzi Competition in Lausanne. And in 1964, he won the first prize in the Maria Chanel International Music Competition in Barcelona. Also, he was the prize-winner of Munich Bavaria Broadcasting Competition and Vercelli Vlotti Competition. He has performed in famous music centers of more than 25 countries including London, Paris, New York, Boston, Berlin, Moscow, St Petersburg, Vienna, Tokyo and Beijing. Achatz has performed more than 1500 times and played with symphony orchestras and radio bands more than 200 times, including Stockholm Radio Band, Munich Radio Band, Paris Radio Band, Stuttgart Radio Band, Turin Radio Band, Milan Radio Band, Paris Pardew Orchestra, Monte Carlo Opera House Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Dresden Starzka Peller Orchestra and Symphony Orchestras in Stockholm, Oslo, Barcelonaand Lisbon.

Dag Achatz often works as the judge of international competitions, including those held in Jaen, Clara Haskir, Vercelli, Paris, Porto, Munich, and Bavarian Radio Orchestra, etc.


Xinning Zhang

Director of Piano Department of Central Conservatory of Music Middle School

Famous Chinese piano educator

Xinning Zhang is the piano director of Attached Middle School of Central Conservatory, a famous Chinese piano educator and professor of Central Conservatory of Music. She entered Attached Primary School of Beijing Central Conservatory of Music at the age of 10. In 1986,she upgraded directly into the department of piano of Central Conservatory of Music with excellent performances. After graduating in July 1990, she taught piano in Attached Middle School of Central Conservatory of Music. During her studying and working, she was taught by Professor Liqin Zheng, Professor Yiming Pan and Professor Qifang Li. In Sept. 1996, she went to Northwestern University in Chicago to continue her study for master degree in piano performance with full scholarship.In Oct. of the same year, she won the second prize in the Piano Concerto Competition held by Northwestern University. During her 25 year's teaching life, Xinning Zhang has held many individual solo concerts and concerto concerts. She has been invited to give lectures and performances in Paris, Los Angeles, Taipei and Music Department of University of Utah. She has won the Excellent Guide Teacher Award many times in the competition of Horowitz, Wenhua Cup,Hong Kong Asian Cup, Kawai, Xiaojinzhong, Caesar and Xinghai Cup.


Ting Zhou

Director of Piano Department of Attached Middle School in Shanghai Conservatory of Music

Piano performer and clavichord performer

Ting Zhou, piano performer and clavichord performer, has got the master’s degree from Peabody Institute. Now he is the piano director of Attached Middle School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, vice president of Piano Committee of Shanghai Musician Association and Yamaha’s contract artist. He has won the first prize in Japanese Takahiro Sonoda International Piano Competition and American Stravinsky International Piano Competition and been rewarded as Evelborg Ricci award. He has gained American Paca Landa Music Consolidated Award twice, and has held concerts in the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Spain, Iceland, Hong Kong mainland China and so on. Also he has performed cooperatively with many famous symphony orchestras, like Central Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Poland Chamber Orchestra and Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

During his busy performance, Ting Zhou is devoted to Chinese piano education business and has been the judge of the piano competitions around the world.for many times. His teaching has been praised by experts at home and abroad. Many of his students have won honors and awards in the competitions at home and abroad, successfully held solo concerts and been admitted to international renowned music universities with full scholarship, like Curtis and Juilliard. Ting Zhou plays an important part in main academic activities. He has been selected as the first youth backbone teachers in Shanghai Conservatory of Music and won many honorary awards, like Shanghai Gardener Award, He Luting Foundation Award, Shanghai Literary Talents Foundation Teachers Award, etc.


Xiaoxue Hu

Director of Piano Department of Attached Middle School of Central Conservatory of Music 

Born in an art family in Sichuan province, Xiaoxue Hu was educated by her mother at the age of 5 and entered Attached Middle School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music to study piano performance. In 1990, she was admitted into the department of piano of Central Conservatory of Music. She received a bachelor's degree in piano performance in 1994 and then taught in the Central Conservatory of Music. In 1997, Xiaoxue Hu received a full scholarship to study for a master's degree in piano teaching in Music College of University of Christian in Texas. She was taught by Professor Tamás Ungár, a famous Hungarian-American pianist. In 2001, she obtained the master’s degree in piano educating with a high grade.

In 2002, she returned to teach in Central Conservatory of Music and now she is the piano director of Attached Middle School of Central Conservatory of Music. Her students have achieved excellent results in all major international piano competitions. She has been awarded the honorary title of Excellent GuidanceTeacher and

Advanced Worker in Central Conservatory of Music and Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. For social contribution, she worked as the art student admissions judge of Tsinghua University and Beihang University and the judge of many national youth piano competitions.

Jie Yuan, a famous youth pianist, is the doctor in performance of Juilliard School and elected as The Top Ten Young Chinese Pianists by CCTV. He is praised as the best of the same generation of pianists for his perfect technique and the unquestionable sense of music by New York Times. Also he is evaluated as "indispensable piano poet for the new generation" by Mr. Dubai in the world famous documentary "Golden Age of Piano". As the youngest pianist in China, now he is the director of Piano Department of Harbin Conservatory of Music, vice president and director of Piano Department of Conservatory of Music, Jilin College of the Arts and vice president of Hangzhou Liangzhu International Arts Academy. At the same time, he is an academician of International Piano Academy Lake Como, art ambassador of Hong Kong Piano Music Association, China and South Korea international art image ambassador, image ambassador of Peking University Philharmonic Foundation, art director of China international Piano Festival, art director of Harbin International Piano Festival, art director of Lanzhou International Piano Week and art director of Hangzhou Dawuding Art Festival. Chenggang Yang

Deputy Director of Piano Department , Professor and Master tutor in Sichuan Conservatory of Music

Doctor Chenggang Yang is vice director of department of piano, professor and master tutor of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. He is also the backup of academic leaders in Sichuan province and vice president of Sichuan Piano Association. From 1980 to 1986, he studied in Sichuan Conservatory of Music Middle School and learned piano from his father, Hanguo Yang. From 1986 to 1989, he was taught by Professor Jun Yang in the Central Conservatory of Music. From 1990 to 2001, he studied in USA and successively received bachelor of music, master of music and doctor of music in University of Texas and University of Missouri. His teachers were William Race, Raymond Herbert and Robert Weirich. In addition to scholarships from American universities, he also won the university of Missouri's concerto competition award and the Missouri teacher association's music competition award.

In piano teaching, his students have won awards or good grades in various American piano competitions and examinations. He is also a member of America National Music Teachers Association and American Piano Association, and often joins in academic activities and master classes held between the Chinese and American piano academies. He has also received many excellent teacher awards, including Yamaha excellent teacher award, Zhujiang Kayserburg excellent teacher award, excellent teacher award of the Kawai piano competition, outstanding teacher award in Sichuan Conservatory of Music, etc.

Pengjie Sun has performed solo concerts in North America, Europeand major Asian cities, and has cooperated with the domestic and overseas symphony orchestras for the piano concerto for many times, winning the appreciation of the audience and professionals. In recent years, Pengjie Sun has also devoted himself to the promotion of classical music, and skillfully integrated the double identities of performers and teachers, with many unique theme concert tours, including Star Whisperer, Pianology, Walking theHistory of Piano, Liszt’s Twelve Outstanding Technical Etudes, etc.The Music Life Times comments him as "technology must be impeccable", "there are cantabile melody lines straight to sky from his performance passion", "confirms the special strength of the player". In addition to his solo performance, he often performs double piano concerts with his wife, Dr. Huirong Li. Several of his students have won international competitions and been admitted to prestigious music academies with full scholarship every year.

He is also invited to the world famous Music Academies and music festivals to perform and give a lecture, including Tanglewood Music Festival in USA, Morningside Music Bridge in Canada. Chun Wang

Associate professor of Central Conservatory of Music

Chinese youth pianist

Chun Wang is Chinese youth pianist and associate professor of Central Conservatory of Music. Graduating from Manhattan School of Music, he obtains the master’s degree and Professional Studies Certificate. In recent years, he is active in many fields such as concert performances, record recording, publication, publication of music score, public lectures and judges. His solo concerts held in USA, Hong Kong and many cities in China are widely praised. In 1992, Chun Wang performed the Mozart piano concerto with the American conductor Sternberg. In 2015, he collaborated with the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Beethoven's fifth "Emperor" concerto, with a big success. In 2009, the famous American critic and pianist, David Dubal (David Dubal, author of Reflect on the Keyboard) spoke highly of his performance and invited him to perform in Juilliard School three times and he was very popular with audiences.

Chun Wang studied from the prestigious piano educator Professor Daxin Zheng, Professor Xiumei Li, Professor Qifang Li and American Professor Solomon Mikowsky. In USA, he was taught by Professor Jerome and Professor David Dubal, etc.  He always kept the first place in school and in 1999, he went on his study for master's degree. During the study, he won the "Fu Chengxian" scholarship. He has won awards in various piano competitions, including third prize at China’s Music Golden Bell Piano Competition in 2002 and third prize at Manhattan’s Dora Zaslowsky Koch Competition in 2009. Since his teaching in 2002, several students have won gold awards in international and domestic competitions and been admitted to well-known universities in Europe and USA with full scholarship.


Xiaojun Li

Director of Keyboard and Associate professor in Shenyang Conservatory of Music Middle School

During the years of teaching, Xiaojun Li has accumulated a lot of teaching experience in teaching, lectures and public lectures. All his students are admitted to the prestigious music universities. The students he taught have won awards at the 1st and 2nd China’s Music Golden Bell Piano Competition, the 7th Steinway National Teenagers Piano Competition and American “North Shore” Piano Festival, etc. He has also been awarded the title of Excellent Adviser and Advanced Individual in Teaching and Education for many times in the school work.


Jia Liu

Deputy Director of Piano Department in Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Associate Professor, Supervisor of Postgraduate

She is a young pianist, the Associate Professor, Deputy Director, and Supervisor of Postgraduate of the Piano Department of Xi’an Conservatory of Music. She is the member of the Chinese Musicians' Associationand the Director of the Piano Association. She was often appointed as the judge of provincial and national piano competitions, such as the Prime Golden Bell Piano Competition and “Cadenza” National Junior Piano Competition. She studied piano in Xi'an Conservatory of Music and its attached middle school, learning from Professor Meiling Wang. From 1999 to 2003, she pursued her postgraduate studies in the Piano Department of Central Conservatory of Music, learning from Professor Bigang Chen. In August 2005, she studied in the  the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart in Germany, learning from Ms Wanying Huang. In 2007, she had a cooperative performance with Austria Modern Orchestra. After returning to China, she held several school concerts, chamber concerts and took charge of the recording of new Chinese piano music CDs.


Zhaohan Song

She was the judge of many piano contests such as CCTV Piano/Violin Competition, Singapore International Chinese Arts Festival, and Young Chang Piano Competition. She was honored as Outstanding Teacher of her department many times for several times. Her students have won great awards in piano contests both at home and abroad, including first place of French YAMAHA International Piano Competition, third place of American Young Musicians Competition, third place of Shanghai Expo Nine College Piano Competition, fifth place of National “Golden Sunflower” Competition Junior Group, first place of School YAMAHA Scholarship Competition, second place of Schumann International Piano Competition Asia Pacific Final, and second place of Hong Kong Mozart Piano Competition Junior Group A.

She took part in the Music Lecture Hall of Tianjin Grand Theatre, organized all kinds of piano competitions, lectures, and master classes in school. She made big contribution to Tianjin Piano Academy, playing an important part in the improvement of piano teaching in Tianjin. Her outstanding capacity in teaching and student work won her high reputation and admiration of students and parents. She recorded an ancient poem song named “Jinse” with famous Taiwan composer Mr. Futang Huang and released a CD. She was selected into the school foreign experts seminar, held many successful solo performances and chamber concerts, published academic papers in national periodicals for several times. Many of her students are studying for bachelor, master and doctor degrees in famous international music schools including Royal College of Music, Mannes School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, University of Cincinnati, and L’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Many students are teaching in music schools both at home and abroad and performing on the international stage.


Chongxiao Liu

He is the director of Piano Department of the Attached Middle School of Wuhan Conservatory of Music, the government-sponsored visiting scholar to the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, the Master of Piano Playing of the Piano Department of Central Conservatory of Music. As a pianist, he performed in many concerts both at home and abroad, such as Washington D.C., Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Moscow, Frankfurt, Baden-Baden, Dreieich, Wehr, Seoul, Shumen, Bejing, Wuhan, Qingdao and Changsha. He has cooperated with China Philharmonic Orchestra and Beijing Film Orchestra. His performance was commented by the Washington Post - “His amazing playing skills run through every detail of the music”. Since 2012, he has been invited to be the tutor and judge of many international art festivals and competitions.


Jing Du

Professor of Piano Department, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Master Tutor

She is the professor of Piano Department in Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Supervisor of Postgraduate, Standing Director of Piano Institute of Sichuan Province, Secretary General of the first Non-Party Intellectuals Association of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She is a Chinese young pianist who was commented by the Dutch media as “has the playing style ofan oriental witch”. Since 1992, she has learned piano from well-known pianists and educators including Professor Zhaoyi Dan, Professor Daxin Zheng, and Professor Guangren Zhou.

In 1995, she held her first solo piano recital at the age of 14. She continuously played Chopin’s twelve etudes, Liszt’s four transcendental etudes, and Saint-Saëns’ piano concerto No. 2, and was hailed as the talented female pianist with huge potential. From 2000 till present, she has held solo piano concerts in Italy, Netherlands, France, Germany, the United States, Japan, China, etc. She has performed with Mr. Leslie Howard and many other renowned world-class pianists. She was invited to perform with many famous national orchestras which includes Sichuan Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Xiamen Philharmonic orchestra. Her performances won high praise and were very influential. She was appointed as the judge in many big piano competitions both at home and abroad. In May 2005, she performed for the former Prime Minister Lanqing Li’s inspection tour in Sichuan and was received and highly praised by the head Officer. 


Xiao Wu

Director of Piano Department of the Attached Middle School in Zhejiang Conservatory of Music

From 1993 to 2002, he studied in the Attached Primary School and Middle School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, learing from Professor Minjuan Fan and Qingfeng Chen. In 2002, he went to pursue his study in France.He studied in L’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and then in the Conservatoireà Rayonnement Régional de Rueil-Malmaison, learing from Marian Rybiski, a famous pianist and Professor Chantl Raou, a famous educator. In 2006, he got his master degree of piano performance and chamber music with an excellent grade of the first place.

He has held many concerts in Europe, the United States, China, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Virginia and North Africa. He was hailed by the French media as “the most expressive oriental young pianist”. He won several international awards such as first place of Casablanca International Piano Competition, top honor of Lizuka Young Musician Competition (Piano Group), and first place of Bordeaux Piano Duo Music Competition. After returning to China, he started teaching in Gulangyu Piano School of Central Conservatory of Music. Later he worked as director of the Piano Department and head of the teaching and research section. In recent years, he has been engaging in piano teaching and fostered a lot of excellent students.

You have to submit the link of a performance video no less than 15mins long (the music and style are not limited, the video should include close-up of hands and the overall view of your performance; video links can be from Tencent, Youku and other websites).

STEP3. After examination, the successfully registered students will receive a notification email from the committee (includes class information, payment information, etc.)

 

STEP4. Students who pay the tuition within 3 working days after receiving the email can attend the art festival.

1. Whether the registration is successful or not is confirmed by the registration information, registration fee, video link, and songs of the class. The missing of any part of this information is considered unsuccessful registration.

 

2. The committee will arrange the class and teacher for students referring to the registration information provided by the student. However,the final arrangement is decided by the committee, including the class type and class hours.

  

3. The teachers and committee members decide the admissions of students.

 

4. All extra classes requirements will be arranged by the committee. If extra classes are required, please apply in the registration form (includes favorite teachers and information of songs). The committee will decide whether the requirement is admitted.

 

5. If the student decide to quit after payment, all fees are non-refundable.

Hangzhou Vanke: Liangzhu Internationl Art Institute


Vanke Liangzhu International Art Institute is located in the central building of Liangzhu Cultural and Art Centre.
