      赛琳娜·戈麦斯，一提到她，首先想到的就是贾斯汀比伯的女友，两人分分合合，最终也算是在一起了。偶然间听到这首歌，仿佛就感受到了一种力量。

      由于知道戈麦斯在过去几年里曾遇到过狼疮等健康问题，今年夏天进行了肾脏移植手术，这首歌的标题具有全新的意义。拉丁语lupus对应英文的wolves 而lupus在英文里又有狼疮之意，得出一个平行的，所以以科学的名义对狼的考虑，有些Fan认为Wloves的灵感来自戈麦斯的各种健康问题。

      赛琳娜·戈麦斯一直饱受红斑性狼疮所苦，这对她的歌迷来说都不是新闻了，但病情严重到要换肾，这一突如其来的“爆料”还是让粉丝和路人都大为吃惊。这位25岁的小天后前天在社交网站上传了一张病床照，告知粉丝她已做了换肾手术，并透露是红斑狼疮复发的缘故导致。

      2017年9月，赛琳娜在Instagram上透露因为红斑狼疮复发的缘故自己的器官衰竭并接受了肾脏移植手术，她从小的挚友弗兰西娅向她捐助了自己的一个肾。10月，赛琳娜在接受采访时表示自己不知道如何开口去问别人有关肾脏移植的问题，因为移植手术不仅需要有人愿意捐献，还需要捐献者的肾源和患者匹配。她知道在没有合适的肾脏出现之前，她必须进行透析。

      弗兰西娅说在得知自己好友被安排在需要等待7-10年的名单中时，她相当错愕，于是毅然决然地接受了匹配测试。赛琳娜：“但最后结果是她的肾和我匹配，这是令人难以置信的，那感觉太不真实了。”

      赛琳娜非常感谢弗兰西娅对她的救命之恩，她觉得她们所经历过的一切都是非常不容易的，她希望以自己的故事去激励人们相信这个世界上有真善美。

      赛琳娜在11月19号的AMAs（全美音乐奖)上会作为首位嘉宾演唱wolves，而且本来赛琳娜由于身体的原因，不准备发歌的，但为了粉丝的期待，最终决定发这张专辑。
