I hope everyone enjoyed our special holiday events last week. We had a huge turnout for our annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony organised by the Friends of Wellington where family and friends enjoyed delicious refreshments while listening to our talented Wellington choir singing Christmas carols.
The Wellington winter wonderland was also a big success. Our Christmas bazaar was filled with the best vendors in town selling great gifts for the holidays, choirs, unicorns, etc. and this year, we even made it snow. Our events are getting bigger and more creative every year. Cheers to our wonderful parents!
A kind reminder to please keep our V&A café tidy. Please place your empty coffee cups and unwanted items in the bins and return all borrowed books to the second hand bookshelf. The V&A café is our space to lounge and get together with other parents, please let’s look after it!
Have a wonderful weekend.

The FOW Shanghai street eats breakfast tour with Untour this week was filling and interesting. While exploring hidden lane ways and local homes in the Former French Concession we stopped and tasted over 10 different types of local style breakfast dishes and also visited a wet market. We danced and exercised and did everything in Shanghai in the morning. Lots of fun and educational at the same time.

Founded on the Bund in Shanghai in 2014, Matthew Liu Fine Arts has been focusing its program on contemporary artists whose works exhibits profound understanding and fusion of the essence of the classic philosophy and aesthetics in Asian visual culture and theories, methods and media in modern and contemporary western art. The gallery presents six exhibitions each year, and has been a vibrant participant to important art fairs. It has been actively working with, advising and assisting museums, curators, private collectors and institutions in the art world and beyond. Reviews of the gallery exhibition and literature of the represented artists and their works have regularly appeared in prominent local and international publications.
In the past three years Matthew Liu fine arts has successfully launched solo exhibitions for established contemporary masters, including Eduardo Arranz-Bravo, Olivo Barbieri, Bernard Faucon, Candida Höfer, Santi Moix, Vik Muniz, Yin Zhaoyang (尹朝阳) and Zheng Zaidong (郑在东). At the same time, the gallery also brought in exciting exhibitions for emerging young artists, including Thomas Canto, Javier Martin, Alberto Peral, Fernando Prats, Namgoong Whan and Yang Yongliang (杨泳梁). The gallery publishes scholarly catalogues for each exhibition. Moving forward, we are excited to further our devotion in supporting contemporary regional artist, art production and creativity by infusing more local and Asian talents into the gallery program. It's that time of the year to think about special gifts for the holidays. While you're shopping, please consider donating a new toy to the 'Toys for Tots' drive. Boy Scouts Troop 12, in conjunction with the US Marines stationed in Shanghai and the US consulate here, are carrying forward a tradition of bringing gifts to children in the hospital over the holidays.
