College counseling assists students with the development of a personalized strategy for the university admissions process.  College counseling is a process that really starts in the first years of the MYP.  Students in MYP 1- MYP 5 need to focus on engaging with school, taking challenging courses and connecting with their passions. In the fall of their DP 1 year, students being to examine their academic, personal and social skills in the interest of finding a college/university which is the very best fit for them.  As students move into their DP 2 year, students write essays, complete coursework, complete assessments, complete applications, request references, write personal statements and complete interviews all towards the goal of making the best connection possible for their future educational plans.

Early  Decision – Generally, the first two weeks of November, several schools are saying Nov. 15 this year.

Generally  – December through February for schools who have a deadline.  As a   rule, the more competitive the institution, the earlier the deadline

U of C schools – Applications are available now! May be submitted starting Nov. 1 and ending Nov. 30th

The  United Kingdom

Via UCAS, applications are now open!  Most courses close, January 15th.

Australia/New  Zealand

For semester 1 (March-June) admissions, 2020, opens the middle of November       and closes in late December.

In addition to this, every year, university representatives from around the world visit XLIS to connect with potential students.  A face-to-face meeting allows students to ask questions of university admissions officers and determine if a given university is a good fit for them.

Berklee College of Music is a private institution that was founded in 1945. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 6,282, and the setting is Urban. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar.

Located in Boston, the Berklee College of Music offers specialized majors such as Composition, Professional Music, and Music Therapy to its students. The school is broken up into Music Technology, Professional Education, Professional Performance, and Professional Writing departments, and the average class size is typically just 11 students.

Outside of class, there are more than 350 student ensembles to join, as well as a variety of clubs and organizations to check out. There are also student-run enterprises, which give participants hands-on experiences running record labels, concert venues, and more. There are no fraternities or sororities. University residence halls are located in the Back-Bay Fenway neighborhood of Boston and, due to limited space, students are not guaranteed housing. International students make up about a quarter of the student body. Among the scores of notable alumni who have graduated from Berklee College of Music are singer John Mayer; Natalie Maines, lead singer of the Dixie Chicks; and Joey Kramer, drummer for Aerosmith.

SUNY Korea was founded in March 2012 as the first American university in Songdo, Korea’s only smart city. It was also the first global campus established at Incheon Global Campus and of SUNY and Stony Brook University (SBU) built outside the U.S. to provide global education.

美国/加拿大（2019年秋季入学）

大部分学校会再11月前两周开始接受申请，部分学校申请起始日期为11月15日。

伯克利音乐学院（Berklee College of Music），成立于1945年，是一所私立本科大学，共拥有6282名本科生，学校位于市区，采用学期制。
