When you think of bass music acts one of the world’s most sought-after artists would have to be the Montreal-based a producer/DJ - Snails. He has made a name for himself by combining Hip hop beats and off-kilter sound design into a new style he affectionately calls ‘vomitstep’. This fresh new sound has introduced the producer to a wider audience, extending to Shanghai this week, where he will perform @Fusion, so get ready guys!

Skrillex & Snails are no stranger to working together, that’s for certain. The OWSLA Spring Compilation 2015 honored “The Perfect Tracklist” in that year, and included “Funk With Me” made by Snails. From a legendary B2B set or two, to their Jack Ü collab “Holla Out,” there’s no denying that the pair have some serious chemistry. Snails has also mentioned that Skrillex’s music really blew his mind, so Skrillex has become his guide and has been leading Snails to make his own style - “Vomitstep”.

Last month, in Skrillex’s newest OWSLA Beats 1 Radio show, the man himself debuted a brand new collab with Snails that is sure to shake your bones to the core. “Vomitstep started as a joke. It was the only way I could describe my sound!” he laughs. “But what’s really cool is that people are appreciating my weirdness! I was in a club in Montreal and saw Adventure Club drop Slugz right in front of me. I didn’t even know they had the tune… Let alone like it! That’s so awesome. And it’s amazing that people like them are enjoying and supporting my music. People aren’t scared of weird stuff any more. People aren’t like ‘no no I can’t play that it’s too mad!’ Instead they’re like ‘this is so weird! I want to play this!’ I LOVE that!”
独特的风格“Vomitstep”
Snails是来自加拿大优秀的制作人兼DJ，天赋异禀的他在音乐制作方面有着不同常人的思想，他推动了将Trap的节奏与脏bass走向配合上类似Dubstep的音色融于舞曲当中，从而形成了独特的风格“Vomitstep”，既有Trap的节奏又有Dubstep的肥厚音色！
自从2012年在网上发布了第一首歌曲就一直在收揽大量的粉丝，随后发布的单曲“Dirty Raxx”, "RBBR" 和”SLUGZ”在SoundCloud上有着百万级播放量，强而有力的Drop配上令人疯狂的抽吸试音色连续轰击大脑，即使不在现场也同样震撼，2014年与DJ Antiserum一起合作的单曲“Wild”在Skrillex的厂牌下发布，一经发布便获得了巨大成功，也是当年Ultra音乐节评选出的最佳歌曲之一。如今的Snails参加了许多著名的大型音乐节，像是EDC,Ultra Music Festival, TomorrowWorld, Nameless Music Festival, Imagine Festival等等
Snails is a Montreal-based producer and DJ who pushes a forward-thinking brand of dance music combining trap rhythms, dirty bass lines and off-kilter sound design. His first tracks appeared online in 2012 on Kannibalen Records.
Since then he has amassed a burgeoning fan-base of snail-heads and bass-lovers. Recent releases like "Dirty Raxxx", "RBBR" and "SLUGZ" blend hypnotic melodies, huge drops and mind-bending sample manipulation into a tight, dance-floor friendly package. Snails' latest track "Wild", co-produced with Antiserum and released on Skrillex's Owsla Records, was one of the standout tracks at the 2014 edition of Ultra Music Festival. Having recently signed with Circle Talent, Snails looks primed to bring his unique take on dance music to the mainstream.
