在上海的家里，我坐在白色的长凳上，盯着眼前的这件物品：1973年，在罗马的Palazzo dello Sport举办的那场音乐会，Elton John在舞台上穿过的背心。那年，是他名声鹊起的一年，如同Elton发布于1972年的代表作品 <Rocket Man>，那年的Elton, 坐上火箭，飞向了宇宙星空。

I sat on the white bench at home in Shanghai, starring at the living relic before my eyes: the vest, worn by Elton John, in the year of 1973, during the live concert in Rome, at Palazzo dello Sport. Elton started in fast track collecting his fame that year, and one year ago in 1972, he published the masterpiece <Rocket Man>. He was truly riding the rocket that year, taking flight into the vast universe.

我在上海的家，我给它取了个名字：House O.Y.

回到地球，我结交了这位长者。我们在上海相遇，他来自意大利的西西里。他是一个有很多故事的人。在不同的人生阶段，有着不同的故事，不同的意义，还会留下不可替代的物品。我眼前的这件背心，就是这样的物品，带着50年的岁月，带着他50年的收藏。

Back to the earth, I met this elder. We met in Shanghai, and he is originally from Sicily, Italy. He is a man with so many stories. In different life moments, there are different stories, with different meanings, and leaving irreplaceable relics. The vest in front of me, is the irreplaceable relic of 50 years old, a 50-year collection by him.

岁月是收藏的基础介质。可恨的是，我们收藏不了岁月本身。我们可以望着一个收藏的物品，去感受物品经历的岁月；我们可以带来一个收藏的物品，然后别人带走了它 —— 但没有人能带来或带走岁月。

Time is the base material for collections. Hateful but true, we cannot collect the time itself. We can look at a relic that we collect and feel the enormous precious moments behind it. We can bring in a relic that we collect, and someone else bring it out and continue collecting it: but no one can bring in or out the time.

我们可以收藏物品，但是岁月在收藏我们。

We may collect, but time collects us.

人与事，都被永恒且不可替代地刻在了岁月的画卷中，为画师独自瞻仰。我们不是画师，如果人生足够精彩，充其量，我们是画师手中的颜料。我不是Elton John的追随者，但我喜欢他用鲜艳的颜色和光亮表达自己。作为岁月画卷上的颜料，Elton完全够格了。

People and moments are painted on the scroll of time by permanence and independence, with full respect by the painter himself. We are not in the position of the painter. If fortunate, if we live a colorful life, we can be the pigment in the painter’s hand. Though I am not a fan to Elton John, I like the way he expresses himself with all the colors and lights. Without any questions, Elton is fully qualified for being the pigment on the scroll of time.

这是一个神奇的时代。我与我的这位长者朋友，这件背心的收藏者，曾坐在街边的台阶上促膝长谈。我们谈电影这门独特的艺术如何改变了世界，我们谈古今中外的伟大人物，我们谈当下可以如此幸运地通过互联网知晓万物。谈着谈着，我们就不需要对话了，他与我仅仅是坐着，感受街上的人来人往，安静地感受神奇。

It is the age of wonders. This elder friend of mine, the collector of the vest, was having a long conversation with me, sitting on the stairs by the street. We covered the topics of films, the unique art form that substantially changed the world. We went through great minds and souls in the history of China and other countries. We shared the feelings of thankfulness that how convenient to explore and see almost everything in the world through the internet. Then, after a while, we stopped talking. We were sitting. We were feeling the flow of people walking on the street. We invited the serenity in, to feel the age of wonders.

真正的神奇是看不见摸不着的，但能够被真切地感受到。

True wonders cannot be seen or formed, but can be felt in real.

于是，我们想，这件50年前的Elton John的舞台背心，虽然可以把它的照片发到互联网上，但它的神奇需要被真实地感受到。因此，这件背心，会在我的家里”住”相当长的一段时间。

So we thought about the vest worn by Elton John on the stage 50 years ago. We can easily upload a photo of it to the internet, but it deserves more feelings with substance. Therefore, this vest, would stay in my home for quite a long time.

50 years ago,after the concert in Rome in 1973,there is such a sentence from a local media article:

A whirlwind of emotions, an evening destined to remain in the mind.

50年后，如果我们能透过一件穿越时代的物品，感受到那种仅属于那个年代的emotions，我们就收藏了我们自己。

50 years later, if through this vest, a living relic, we would have the capacity to feel the emotions only belonging to that age, we just collected ourselves.
