Monday's Chinese Foreign Ministry routine news conference saw a new host, as Mao Ning, the Foreign Ministry's new spokesperson made her public appearance in her new post.

9月5日，中国外交部例行记者会迎来了一位新任发言人——毛宁，她以外交部新任发言人身份正式主持外交部例行记者会。

Mao, born in December 1972, is of Han ethnicity and graduated with a Master's degree, according to the official website of Chinese Foreign Ministry. Mao took the post as the 33rd Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson and Deputy Director-General of the Information Department. 

外交部官网显示，毛宁，汉族，1972年12月生，硕士研究生学历，现任中国外交部第33任新闻发言人、新闻司副司长。

"Mao has been engaged in diplomatic work for 27 years and has worked in Asian affairs for a long time. I believe she will soon establish a good working relationship with Chinese and foreign journalists, I hope that you will support Mao's work as you have supported previous spokespersons." said Wang Wenbin, another Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson when introducing Mao before Monday's routine news conference.

“毛宁副司长从事外交工作已经27年，曾长期从事亚洲方向的工作。相信她会很快和中外记者朋友们建立起良好的工作关系，希望大家像支持历任外交部发言人一样支持毛宁副司长的工作。”外交部发言人汪文斌5日在例行记者会开始前介绍。

Mao said she is honored to become the 33rd spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "I will learn from my predecessors, work with my colleagues to introduce China's foreign policy and diplomatic philosophy in a timely, accurate and comprehensive manner, and work to enhance mutual understanding between China and the world," she said before the news conference on Monday.

毛宁表示，她非常荣幸能够成为外交部第33任发言人。“我将向自己的前任学习，和同事们一道及时、准确、全面介绍中国的外交政策和外交理念，致力于增进中国与世界的相互了解，”毛宁5日在主持记者会前表示。

"I will prepare for each news conference carefully, treat every reporter sincerely, answer every question with heart and soul, I am looking forward to maintaining good communication and cooperation with you all, and also hope to receive your support." she said.

她说：“我会认真准备每一场记者会，真诚对待每一位记者朋友，用心回答每一个问题，期待与大家保持良好的沟通与合作，也希望得到大家的支持。”

Public information shows that Mao has previously served as Deputy Director-General of the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Korean Peninsula Affairs Office of the Asian Department, and counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the US.

公开资料显示，毛宁曾任外交部亚洲司副司长，亚洲司朝鲜半岛事务办公室主任、中国驻美大使馆参赞。
