"This is a song that's been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface. I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite," the singer-songwriter told E! News in a statement. "I know that together we can rise above the fear—in our country, and around the world. I can't think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we ALL can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be. I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together. I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games."

这首歌的开始部分没有人想象中的奥运主题曲的强劲节奏，反而是一种涤荡灵魂的空灵之感。

没有过多的乐器伴奏的声音，几乎是女歌手的清唱，但是仔细品味你会听到强有力的心跳声，赋予了整首歌曲生命力和代入感。后面随着歌词的转折，伴奏的感觉厚重起来，抗争、奋斗、向上的意味就出来了。

欣赏歌曲的过程中，小编回忆起里约如火如荼准备次届奥运过程中，也曾遭外国媒体质疑办赛实力，担心场馆能否按期完成，担心安保工作是否到位，总之就是各种质疑和吐槽，歌词中似有对此事的回应——人们都在低喃你的时间已所剩无几，而我毅然展翅高飞，这绝非错误也非意外，不要讶异我的重新崛起，请不要质疑……

We can merely feel the strong rhythm  in typical Olympic theme song. What it gives us is a kind of clear and limpid feeling that cleanse the soul. 

It is almost the singers voice without too much instrument accompaniment. While if you listen carefully, you may catch the strong heartbeat. which gives the whole song vitality. 

When listening to the song, I remember that during the process of preparing the Olympic, Rio has been doubted all the way, about the venue construction, security work and so many things. The song perhaps gives a response: 

They're whispering you're out of time. 

But still I rise. 

This is no mistake no accident. 

Don't be surprised I will still rise. 

Don't doubt is, don't doubt it.
